Data Overview Lodge Primary July 2024

Figures in brackets denote core group attainment, i.e. children who have been at Lodge since the beginning of the key stage.

EYFS

Progress and attainment has significantly improved compared to 2023. Our GLD is more in line with the national average and 5% above the LA average. When the 5 children that started since March 2024 are removed from the data, the GLD is 74%. The 2% discrepancy between reading and writing is attributed to EAL pupils’ understanding of what they are decoding including their limited language acquisition.

72% of pupils met the Phonics Screening Check (PSC) threshold in June 2024. Compared to 2023, this is a decline in attainment however this demonstrates exceptional progress for a cohort that has 13 SEND (including 3 pupils with EHCPs) and 8 INA pupils. There has also been a high mobility rate due to low PAN figures from Reception and 11 new starters arriving throughout the academic year. Thus evidencing the consistently high quality teaching and learning of systematic synthetic phonics.

* If we remove pupils who arrived during the academic year 2023 – 2024, 83% of pupils would have met the PSC.

Our 2023-2024 KS2 writing attainment is in line with national averages for the expected standard. There is also an increase of 1% from 2024.

Attainment for the expected standard in maths is slightly (2/3%) above national averages. However, there is a decline in the achievement of the Greater Depth standard (11%) since 2023.

Attainment of reading demonstrates a decrease of 11% for the expected standard and 5% (4%) for Greater Depth standard from 2024. Our data for the Expected standard in reading is also 9% below the national average.

In comparison to the previous 2023 cohort of Year 6 pupils, there was a higher proportion of SEND pupils (12) including 3 pupils with EHCPs. After the analysis of data, we found that three of our children achieved a standardised score of 99 in reading, therefore just missing the boundary. If they are added to the percentage of children attaining ARE in reading, then the attainment is 70% (71%).
